1. So, I have a miniature dachshund, named Franklin. He is absolutely the most adorable creature I have ever met (yes, I am aware of my bias in this situation). But, honestly, he makes me laugh a minimum of ten times a day just by being so ridiculously cute! In other words, he's my favorite thing...ever! <3
2. I am in desperate need of a vacation. I'm talking like a flight to Europe or Australia. Need. NOW. How good would it be to get away for a week or two? I always feel so renewed after long, faraway vacations. Looking at this picture from my trip to Cinque Terre in Italy doesn't really help...but it sure does bring back some lovely memories!
3. I have this problem of carring WAY too many things at once. For some reason, I always believe that I have at least three extra hands than I do...and then incomes the cross body bag! It at least gives me both of my hands to use to carry my million extra who-knows-whats. I got this bag from Michael Kors a few months ago and have not been able to break the habit since. But I'm not sure if this is an addiction that I want to cure...
4. The most recent addition to my closet was a pair of Tory Burch flats. Leopard, gold, shoes...3 perfect things all jumbled up into one perfect combination! And somehow, I can figure out a way to wear them with almost any outfit! Weird, huh??
5. My papa! As it is almost father's day, I want to let my dad know how much I love him! He has always been there for me...even if we haven't lived in the same city for the last 5+ years. I hope he is as proud of me as I am of him! I'm even following in his footsteps and becoming a Physical Therapist myself...if that doesn't say "daddy's girl" then I'm not sure what does! Love you daddio!!
Hope everyone has an amazing Father's Day weekend!

Mood-uplifting Monday
I have GOT to get out of this funk...so, here are a few things that put me in a cheery mood. Hopefully this helps for anyone else suffering a case of the Mondays.
Yeah, I know, cheesy 'video' but I love me some Joshua Radin. Seriously, his CD has been on repeat all day. Try it, you'll like it.
And an old throw-back that never fails to crack a smile. How to Trick People Into Thinking You're Good Looking.
Now I'm going to paint my nails with this lovely shade...
And then I'm going to go on a run with my dog (I can't get his picture in here at some point...but I promise there will be too many more to come, so I'm probably doing ya'll a favor)
Happy (or at least hopefully happy) Monday Lovelies!! :)

Ugh, What a Weekend...
I don't have much to say, but here goes (in short form)...
1. Yes, the boy and I are in a 'fight' so I am not in the greatest mood ever.
2. I got WAY too much sun for all of us this weekend, and yes, I am willing to share.
3. I have 2 tests this week, and am definitely NOT wanting to study whatsoever...so I guess I'll have to wait and see how these go.
4. Please share some uplifting stories from your week to help mine! Please oh please?! Love you all!!
P.S. Sorry this is such a boring post...I guess it is reflecting my mood at the moment :(

Oh, The Joy's of Summer
One of my all-time FAVORITE summer activities is going to the lake. Yes, us Midwesterners have to settle for lakes rather than ocean beach front resorts, but boy do we make the most of it! Grilling, morning boat rides, fireworks for every occassion, laying out without a care in the world, what more could a girl ask for?!
This is a picture of my little boy and I laying out on the dock over Memorial Day weekend.
I don't know if you have visited the exotic Midwest in the middle of summer, but let me spell it out for you: H-U-M-I-D-I-T-Y. Not even joking. It's awful. And not to mention the serious amount of bad hair days it causes. Luckily, I have found something to counteract Mother Nature's follicular attacks! If you haven't heard of it before, I highly highly highly highly recommend this little magical wand...it really is magical!
Sultra Bombshell Curling Wand (I got mine from Sephora)
Another lovely aspect of summer is the ability I get to wear flip-flops every single day! I don't know about you, but I am a complete flip flop, t-shirts, and shorts kind of girl...you know, throwing on an accessory occassionally to liven up the outfit. Due to traveling back and forth almost every weekend to see the boy and my family, I've finally narrowed down my 'flip flop wardrobe' to only 3 pairs (ok, maybe 4 or even 5 on some fancy weekends).
Rainbows, of course. I wish I could tell you what number pair this is for me, but let's just say you might be slightly disturbed.
Steve Maddens. Yes, I DO believe that these sandals account for a 'dressy shoe' during the summer...don't judge!
Sam Edelman's. What couldn't you wear with these?
Now that you know how I like to spend my summers, you should know how I will really be spending them for the next 2 years of grad school... studying studying studying! So enjoy your lovely summer a little extra for moi!
And on that point, I must get better at this blogging shindig! Hope you've all had a fabulous day :)

Happy Birthday to Me!!
I've done it...I've finally done it...I have officially created my very first blog! I know, I know, LOTS of work needs to be done to get this puppy up and looking pretty, but at least it has been launched! Right? I'll just keep telling myself this...
Anywho, I am a happy camper right now, so for my first post I am celebrating with cupcakes.
Ooey gooey delicious marshmallow fluff filled German Chocolate cupcakes. Delicious now, but sure to keep me in the gym for the better part of tomorrow evening. But a girl deserves to celebrate! Now, on to that studying that needs to be done at some point...
